Easter (24/11/2011)

Today is Easter Monday so yesterday is Easter Day!!! Hallelujah!!! Everyone in this universe, Christians or non-Christian celebrates & knows what Easter Day is. But many do not know the true meaning of Easter, just like Christmas. & you know what?! When people say 'Easter' surely everyone will think of bunnies, Easter eggs, bla bla bla.... BUT.... is that the true meaning of Easter Day? Let me tell you what's the true meaning of Easter:

Easter is the central feast in the Christian liturgical year. According to the Canonical gospels, Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day after his crucifixion. His resurrection is celebrated on Easter Day or Easter Sunday.

Easter marks the end of Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. The last week of the Lent is called Holy Week, and it contains Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. Easter is followed by a fifty-day period called Easter-tide or the Easter Season, ending with Pentecost Sunday.

So for me, Easter is a day / celebration to mark my new life or chapter in my life which the Lord Jesus Christ has given me when he resurrected from His dead on the Cross. Easter Day also reminds me that my sins have been washed away(forgiven) by the blood which Jesus had shed when He died on the Cross for you, me and everyone(even the non-believers). So I promise that I will live a good Christian life and I will also pray for you if you are willing to give your life to Jesus Christ now(comment)^^
