Happy Deepavali !!! XD

Nice day mate^^ Today is a big day for all Malaysians of Hindu faith, that is Deepavali...... Do you all know what is Deepavali for? Why do they celebrate Deepavali? Why is it so important for them? Let me share with you about this unique festival. According to Wkipedia, The Free EncyclopaediaDeepavali or Diwali, popularly known as the "festival of lights," is a festival celebrated between mid-October and mid-November for different reasons. For Hindus, Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes.

The name "Diwali" is a contraction of "Deepavali" (Sanskrit: दीपावली Dīpāvalī), which translates into "row of lamps". Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps (diyas or dīpas) in Sanskrit: दीप) filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. During Diwali, all the celebrants wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks with family members and friends.
The festival starts with Dhanteras on which most Indian business communities begin their financial year. The second day of the festival, Naraka Chaturdasi, marks the vanquishing of the demon Naraka by Lord Krishna and his wife Satyabhama. Amavasya, the third day of Deepawali, marks the worship ofLakshmi, the goddess of wealth in her most benevolent mood, fulfilling the wishes of her devotees. Amavasya also tells the story of Lord Vishnu, who in his dwarf incarnation vanquished the Bali, and banished him to Patala. It is on the fourth day of Deepawali, Kartika Shudda Padyami, that Bali went to patalaand took the reins of his new kingdom in there. The fifth day is referred to as Yama Dvitiya (also called Bhai Dooj), and on this day sisters invite their brothers to their homes.

While the story behind Deepavali and the manner of celebration varies from region to region (festive fireworks, worship, lights, sharing of sweets), the essence is the same – to rejoice in the Inner Light (Atman) or the underlying Reality of all things (Brahman).
Deepavali (Dipawali)
DIYAS, a type of oil lamp
Yup. Diwali or maybe Deepavali is now well-known as "The Festival of Light". This is because Diwali is then translated as "row of lamps". So that is why every Deepavali Eve, Hindus will arrange a type of oil lamp called "diyas" around their house compound. Then during night time, every family members will get to light up one oil lamp each or maybe more depends on the quantity of oil lamps arranged around the house compound. That's why every Deepavali, you will get to see your Hindu friends' house lighted up by all these "diyas". How beautiful, right?

haiz.... so sad~ I don't have the chance to go visiting this Deepavali. boo hoo.... :'(    haha.... anyway, let me tell you something very special. From the picture above, you can see that I have been to that place before. This place is like a tourism store, where all Sarawak's unique items like: black pepper, shark fin, bird's nest, white pepper, sago biscuit, keropok, many different kinds of herbs & spices and others are sold here. They also sell T-shirts that are beautifully designed with all sorts of Sarawak design. I like the one with the Dayak's design on it!! Too bad I didn't take photo of it as I was not allowed too. Do you know what?! The things sold there are also sold at a reasonable price!! So WELCOME~ XD

LjOCH with the shark fins!! yum~
Pepper in a cat bottle... *miao*
sago biscuit

"Tebaloi" is one of trillion type of brand of sago biscuit. This brand is sold at SingPiao. This "Tebaloi" has three types of flavour. They are Original flavour, Chocalate & Pandan flavour. They are so delicious! yum~ yum~ I like all of them! I want some more!!!! haha.... ^^ This is my first time to eat Sago Biscuit. So that is why I think that this is a very delicious sago biscuit. But if you have tried other brand, you can just introduce it to me anytime by commenting below. TQ^^ Have a nice day~ May God bless you always..... XD

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde~ XD

Hi, everyone! During these few weeks of "holiday" that I have earned myself for sitting my PMR ^^, I have decided to read a few storybooks that I have stored in my bedroom a few years ago! Some of my friends decided to play online games (me too! XD), some of them just having plain fun (riding bikes, wave surfing, play badminton, etc...), some of the geniuses just couldn't resist from their textbooks (GAH! what's wrong with them!), some of them pick up a temporary job to earn themselves some money or some 'job experience', they call it, & some of them just go back to their home town for a visit........

Ok. there are many different kinds of storybooks that I have read from Chinese storybooks to Engish storybooks too! I prefer to read English storybooks as English is my primary language! Yeah! I love English so do you! haha... anyway, I would like to talk about a English storybook, that is called "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde"..... I believe that everyone has read this story before, right? haiz.... boring, right?! If not, I strongly recommend you to go to a bookstore or to a library to borrow this amazing storybook & I  bet that after reading it, you would want to own one yourself! Picture below is the front cover of the storybook:

This story is believed to be the world's most popular story ever in history! (I think ^^) This story is orginally writen by the Scottish author, Robert Louis Stevenson that was first published in 1886 and is now retold by many marvelous unknown writers. (Yeah! All credit goes to Robert! haha...). The original pronunciation of Jekyll was "Jeekul" which was the pronunciation used in Stevenson's native Scotland. (nice~). The work is commonly known today as The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde or simply Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Let me briefly tell you about the story in this amazing storybook...... It is about a London lawyer named Gabriel John Utterson who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll, and the misanthropic Edward Hyde. In London, Gabriel John Utterson, a lawyer, is on his weekly walk with his relative Richard Enfield, who proceeds to tell him of an encounter he had some months ago while coming home late at night from Cavendish Place. The tale describes a sinister figure named Mr Hyde who tramples a young girl, disappears into a door on the street, and re-emerges to pay off her relatives with 10 pounds in gold and a cheque signed by a respectable gentleman -- Dr Henry Jekyll, a client and friend of Utterson's -- for 100 pounds. Jekyll having recently and suddenly changed his will to make Hyde beneficiary, Utterson is disturbed and concerned about this development, and makes an effort to seek out Hyde. Upon finally managing to encounter Hyde, Utterson is amazed by how ugly the man seems, as if deformed; though Utterson cannot say why exactly how this is so or why it is, Hyde seems to provoke an instinctive feeling of revulsion in him. Much to Utterson’s surprise, Hyde willingly offers Utterson his address. Jekyll tells Utterson not to concern himself with the matter of Hyde.

A year passes uneventfully. One night, a servant girl witnesses Hyde beat a man to death with a heavy cane - MP Sir Danvers Carew, also a client of Utterson. The police contact Utterson, who suspects Hyde of the murder. He leads the officers to Hyde’s apartment, feeling a sense of foreboding amid the eerie weather (the morning is dark and wreathed in fog). When they arrive at the apartment, the murderer has vanished, but they find half of the cane (described as being made of a strong wood but broken due to the beating) left behind a door. It is revealed to have been given to Jekyll by Utterson. Shortly thereafter, Utterson again visits Jekyll, who now claims to have ended all relations with Hyde. Jekyll shows Utterson a note, allegedly written to Jekyll by Hyde, apologizing for the trouble he has caused him and saying goodbye. That night, however, Utterson’s clerk points out that Hyde’s handwriting bears a remarkable similarity to Jekyll’s own.

For a few months, Jekyll reverts to his former friendly and sociable manner, as if a weight has been lifted from his shoulders. Later, Jekyll suddenly begins to refuse visitors, and Dr Hastie Lanyon, a mutual acquaintance of Jekyll and Utterson, dies suddenly of shock after receiving information relating to Jekyll. Before his death, Lanyon gives Utterson a letter, with instructions that he not open it until after Jekyll's death or disappearance. Utterson goes out walking with Enfield, and they see Jekyll at a window of his laboratory; the three men begin to converse, but a look of horror comes over Jekyll’s face, and he slams the window and disappears. Soon afterward, Jekyll’s butler, Mr Poole, visits Utterson in a state of desperation and explains that Jekyll has secluded himself in his laboratory for several weeks, and that now the voice that comes from the room sounds nothing like the doctor’s. Utterson and Poole travel to Jekyll’s house through empty, windswept, sinister streets; once there, they find the servants huddled together in fear. After arguing for a time, the two of them resolve to break into Jekyll’s laboratory.
Inside, they find the body of Hyde, wearing Jekyll’s clothes and apparently dead from suicide. They find also a letter from Jekyll to Utterson promising to explain the entire mystery. Utterson takes the document home, where first he reads Lanyon’s letter and then Jekyll's. The first reveals that Lanyon’s deterioration and eventual death were caused by the shock of seeing Mr Hyde drink a potion and, as a result of doing so, metamorphose into Dr Jekyll. The second letter explains that Jekyll, seeking to separate his good side from his darker impulses, discovered a way to transform himself periodically into a creature free of conscience, this being Mr Hyde. The transformation was incomplete, however, in that it created a second, evil identity, but did not make the first identity purely good. At first, Jekyll reports, he delighted in becoming Hyde and rejoiced in the moral freedom that the creature possessed. Eventually, however, he found that he was turning into Hyde involuntarily in his sleep, even without taking the potion.
At this point, Jekyll resolved to cease becoming Hyde. One night, however, the urge gripped him too strongly, and after the transformation he immediately rushed out and violently killed Sir Danvers Carew. Horrified, Jekyll tried more adamantly to stop the transformations, and for a time he proved successful by engaging in philanthropic work. At a park, he considers how good a person he has become as a result of his deeds (in comparison to others), believing himself redeemed. However, before he completes his line of thought, he looks down at his hands and realizes that he has suddenly once again become Mr Hyde. This was the first time that an involuntary metamorphosis had happened in waking hours. Far from his laboratory and hunted by the police as a murderer, Hyde needed Lanyon’s help to get his potions and become Jekyll again; when he undertook the transformation in Lanyon’s presence, the shock of the sight instigated Lanyon’s deterioration and death. Meanwhile, Jekyll returned to his home, only to find himself ever more helpless and trapped as the transformations increased in frequency and necessitated even larger doses of potion in order to reverse themselves. It was the onset of one of these spontaneous metamorphoses that caused Jekyll to slam his laboratory window shut in the middle of his conversation with Enfield and Utterson.
Eventually, the potion began to run out, and Jekyll was unable to find a necessary ingredient to make more. Ironically, Jekyll learns that this most necessary ingredient was in the first instance of his experiments, sullied. Subsequent supplies are pure and thus lacking the quality that makes the potion successful for his experiments. His ability to change back from Hyde into Jekyll slowly vanished. Jekyll writes that even as he composes his letter he knows that he will soon become Hyde permanently, and he wonders if Hyde will face execution for his crimes or choose to kill himself. Jekyll notes that, in either case, the end of his letter marks the end of the life of Dr Jekyll. He ends the letter saying "I bring the life of that unhappy Henry Jekyll to an end." With these words, both the document and the novel come to a close.

Hope you enjoy reading this storybook. Wait! If you cannot find this storybook anywhere and you wish to read one, please do not panic. You can also look for other type of front cover as there are many storybooks about this story. Just look for a storybook saying "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" and you are one step ahead to the story! Happy Reading^^

For your information, today is Deepavali eve!!! So this means that tomorrow is Deepavali! Yeah! another public holiday!! So I thank you all for giving me this opportunity to say a very "Happy Deepavali" to all Malaysians friends out there of Hindu faith, including YOU if you are one. My favourite movie on NTV7!!! Yeah! XD

There is this Chinese movie called "Hui Jia De You Huo [回家的诱惑]". It is currently showing on NTV7, weekdays (from Monday to Friday) at 6.00pm till 7.00pm...... This movie is about a women called "Lin Pin Ru". She is married and has a husband called "Hong Shi Xian". Pin Ru has a not-so-rich and not-so-poor family while Shi Xian has a multi-millionaire family. As they have different family background, they just couldn't get along with each other. Shi Xian's family has always been treating Pin Ru (Shi Xian's wife) as a maid. Everyday, they will command her to do this do that, bully her and so on, making Pin Ru's life so miserable.

One day, Shi Xian met a not-so-pretty but cunning woman. She is called "Ai Li". She told Shi Xian that she is interested in him and wanted to marry him. But after knowing that he is married and has a wife but no children, she tries to use all sorts of evil ways to convince him to marry her. Unfortunately, she just couldn't do it as Shi Xian's father, known as Mr Hong, is some sort of 'keras hati' and just don't accept their wedding because he said he only wants Pin Ru to be the one only wife of Shi Xian and he doesn't want any third person to 'campur tangan' in his family. This makes Ai Li very angry.

Then one day, while Shi Xian and Pin Ru went to the sea with a 'sampan', Pin Ru accidentally fell into the sea as there was a big wave at that time. Shi Xian tried to save Pin Ru but he didn't have enough time to save her. So after a few days, the police announced that Pin Ru fell into the sea because she wanted to commit suicide as Shi Xian didn't tell the incidence to the police.

But, actually, Pin Ru is NOT dead. She was saved by a man. At first, she wanted to jump off a tall building as she thought that there is no meaning for her to live anymore as her first baby, which WAS in her womb is drown by the sea water. But after that, she think of helping her baby to revenge and take away Shi Xian and Ai Li's romantic life............ (to be continued on NTV7, weekdays - 6.00-->7.00pm) I am watching too! Muahahahahahaaaa....... ^^

If you want to know MORE on how does Pin Ru revenge and take away her ex-husband's (Shi Xian's) sweet moment with his "second wife" (Ai Li), just switch on your LCD tv or whatever tv you have and then switch the channel to channel 4 or just switch it to NTV7, your feel good channel! Yeah! XD ..... but if you do not own a television or your tv doesn't receive this damn channel's signal, you can always log on to YouTube and watch the whole series there! Enjoy^^

WOW!!! Such a NORMAL Day!!!! haha.... XD

Hi, everyone!!! Welcome back to LjOCH's Blog!!! I, Lyndon, will be posting some interesting and unique stuff for you today! C'mon!!! Scroll down NOW!!!! XD

On the 12th Oct, I went back to my dear school to return all of my Form 3 school textbooks. Not only that, I, as a SPBT member, am in-charge of the book returning too. It was kind of tiring but it was actually so FUN to me!!! Yeah!!! I'm also glad that I can duty for SPBT as I have nothing to do at home besides sleeping, eating, playing & most importantly, BREATHING!!!! hahahaa..... anyway, let's say 'Goodbye' to all of my Form 3 textbooks!!! I will always miss all of you!!! Muaksss....... XD

Yesterday, I went to Tun Jugah with my mother and my brother to buy workbooks that are needed for my brother to be used in his school. We went around the bookshop many times but unfortunately, we found nothing that is needed. So we just went home. So unlucky~ & On the way out to the exit of Tun Jugah, we saw this amazing design on the floor. It was so lovely that I would like to share it with everyone!!!! Here, it's that peacock!!! Where?! Scroll down lah!!! :
<-------- this photo is a beautiful peacock beautifully designed with coloured rice!!! Wow!!! So awesome, right?! I love it!!! Don't you too??!!

When I reach home, I had nothing to do. so I decided to tidy my messy bedroom. Since my PMR, my bedroom is all a mess with all my textbooks, reference books and even storybooks!!!! All of these books are scattered all around my bedroom which makes my bedroom looks so messy just like some thieves has just broke into my house!!! TOUCH WOOD!!!!! NO!!!!!!!! Should not say this kind of unlucky things! TOUCH WOOD!!! It will never happen & I know it!!!!! haha.... XD anyway, it was really messy that it took me a long long long time, maybe 3 hours, just for me to tidy my bedroom. Aaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! So tiring!!!!!!!!! Gah!!! ^^

After tidying up my bedroom, I found out that I bought so many reference book & I didn't even know that!!! Wow!!! How did I manage to read all of these reference books??? I must be NUTS!!!  Whew......... luckily, my PMR is over and I never ever need to use all of these reference books anymore!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!! So happy!!!! (yup, this is the Good news) & now for the bad news: unlike all my other friends who get to sell all of their reference books & earn themselves some money, I couldn't sell all of my reference books to those students who need them because my sister, who is going to be Form 2 next year, needs all these reference books. So instead of selling these, I can only give them to my sister for her to use for FREE!!!! So sad~ :'(

As for today, my mum decided to do gardening!!!!! So I went out to my home garden with my mum to lend my mum a helping hand!!! I tell you the truth, I hate going to the garden so much because every time I go to the garden, there will be many kinds of insects, bugs and SPIDERS in the garden!!!! Don't laugh at me & don't ask me why!!!! I hate spiders in my whole life & I don't know why!!!! These spiders just give me the creeps every time I see them face to face!!!! Aaaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! GET RID OF ALL THE SPIDERS!!!!!!! XD haha..... anyway, my mother saw two huge grasshoppers on the tree branch!!! They were kind of like breeding!!!! Do you know what? Even though how hard my mother shake the branches, they will not jump away from the branch. Why so? So weird~ Don't tell me they are having a wonderful time breeding till they forget the reality of this world!!! haiz.....

Ok! That's it for today! Pray that you enjoy my blog & Have a nice day~ May God bless everyone always with Good Health!!! Thank you & Please come again~ XD

I'm coming back with MORE updates!!! XD

Hey, everyone!!!! I am finally back with more updates!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!! Are you excited? Are you? Are you??? Yes!!!!! I am sure you are!!!!! Aren't you? haha..... So below are all of my updates since and after my PMR examination: (ENJOY!!!!)
--------> 1st day of PMR (4/10/11), I was so so so NERVOUS the first time I went into the examination room. I don't no why but I think my heart almost dropped out from its socket!!! Thank God it didn't!!!! haha..... anyway, I manage to survive my Bahasa Malaysia (BM) Paper 1 & Paper 2!!!! Pray that God will help me to score A for those two subjects!!!! XD
--------> 2nd day (5/10/11), I start to feel relax but I still feel a little nervous (at least better than the first day!!!!^^). I sat for my English Paper 1 & Paper 2 and also for my Geography Paper on this day. I was so WORRIED that I couldn't answer any of the questions given in my Geography Paper. but..... God is always GOOD and He helped me to survive in them too!!!! Yeah! Thank you, God!!!! :')
--------> 6/10/11, it was the time for my Science Paper 1 & Paper 2!!!! Yeah! I love Science so much!!!! haha..... but..... I prefer Maths more than Science..... anyway, they are both the same to me^^ WAIT!!!! not so fast!!! I sat for the Malaysians' No.1 Enemy too - that is HISTORY!!!!! Gah!!!! Why on Earth is there a subject called 'History'???? I thought people keep saying "Don't look to the past, just keep moving forward." You see!!! Even Toyota says "Moving Forward~" Haiz.... anyway, I manage to survive my History paper with God at my side!!!
--------> Fourth day (10/10/11), Ah HA!!! It's my MATHS time!!!! Muahahahahahahahahahaaa!!!!! =.=||| Maths was not so difficult to me as it is my most favourite subject in my life!!!! I love you, Maths!!! You are the BEST!!!! I also sat for my Kemahiran Hidup (KH) Paper on the 4th day. KH was also not so tough for me as most of the questions are just common sense. SSSSsssshhhhhh....... let me tell you one of the questions they ask in this KH paper. & PLEASE do not tell others, ya!!!! because this paper is a closed paper..... just kidding~ anyway, the question goes like this: 'Choose the correct sequence to cook Fried Noodle with Prawn'!!!! What the hell, right? That is so weird for them to ask this type of question.
--------> LAST DAY (11/10/11), Chinese Paper 1 & Paper 2.... :'(    why oh why did I take Chinese in the first place eventhough I know that my Chinese is not that good and I know that it will be very tough for me!!!! Aaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!!!!! anyway, I took Chinese because I know that Chinese is important & I need to take because I am Chinese (& PROUD to be one) & I know that God will help me throughout the paper & He will not let me down!!! Hallelujah!!!
& as for today....... It's FREEDOM!!!!! Muahahahahahahahahaaa!!!!!! Why am I so happy? Haiz..... do you know what? At first, when my PMR has just ended, I was so HAPPY that my PMR has finally ended & I get to be as free as a bird!!! Unfortunately, it turn out to be a disaster. Why? I finally found out that I have nothing to do & I feel that something BIG is missing in my life as I have used to my busy life whereby I study whenever I reach home (I am NOT that hardworking as it seems from this sentence. Please DON'T misunderstand)!!!! Boo hoo..... what should I do? What should I do???? :'(

Anyway, I hereby wish all PMR Candidates 2011 a Happy Holiday & I pray that we will achieve what we desire to get!!! May God bless everyone!!!! :)
